Having lived with guilt and a result of abuse and some emotional neglect amongst other trauma, it was no surprise when the realisation came that I needed counselling. Help came in the form of a counsellor from the HearSay Charitable Trust.

I delayed in making my first appointment largely due to embarrassment and the fear of reliving my most painful experiences.

I need not have worried. Kitty's patience, understanding, non-judgemental attitude has given me not only the strength to relive my difficult times, but also to view those situations differently. I still have some small regrets about my past, but I now feel freer than I have for about 35 years. I would recommend the HCT to anyone with the same experiences as myself. The support I have received has been life changing and I feel in control for the very first time
